Why is the child struggling to read and write?
Dyslexia (disruption of the process to learn reading) and dysgraphia (disruption of the process to learn written speech) – are diagnoses which are treated with the help of a speech therapist.
However, speech and reading disorders almost always have a neurological cause – immaturity or dysfunction of certain areas of the brain.
Modern neurological research demonstrates how often children with dysgraphia and dyslexia have disorders in the workload of the brain stem, cerebellum and basal ganglia. Most children that have learning difficulties have these disorders.
Restoration of the functionality of these structures and strengthening of the neural links with the brain cortex leads to a significant improvement in reading and writing and helps a child to learn how to organise his activity.
For this reason, aside from using traditional speech therapy sessions, we also include methods that normalise the work of the brain stem, cortex and basal ganglia.
What methods are used to help children with reading and writing disorders?
- General massage with an accent at the “collar zone”
- Neurodynamic gymnastics
- Interactive Metronome
- Balance-Master
- Tomatis
- Sessions with a speech therapist.
